Day 1: The War

When I was cooped up during lockdown, I heard that a professor told his students to write during it- “you will be primary sources for future history.”

So I’m trying to start today. I deactivated my Facebook and Instagram accounts because they were too triggering and I was paranoid about all my posts and obsessing and being impulsive.

Basically since Hamas launched their attack, I’ve been unable to stop thinking, texting, googling, writing stuff, reading all kinds of newspapers; watching Al Jazeera, German news, Reuters, the usual American news.

I even wrote a long post for here about what it means to me to be Jewish, basically taught to do good deeds and try not do anything really bad. There’s in between stuff like giving up/in.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

I saw something that said, I hate you for killing my children but I hate you more for making me kill your children.

I wish that were true but the Israelis are committing war crimes by the minute bombing people in an open air prison.

I have to go ho to bed in my cushy lifestyle far from the intense suffering in Gaza and the families of hostages and dead Israelis.

I think the Palestinians are doomed. It’s only getting worse day by day…
